In 2003 while coming home from the Gathering of Nations Pow Wow in Albuquerque New Mexico, I was contemplating a statement that the Traditional Chief of the Cherokee Nation told me. I was honored when the Chief declared that my Neo-Precolumbian art was not only spiritually correct in its content, but it was also helping to re-build the bridge between the northern and the southern tribes. He said the bridge between the north and the south had been destroyed in the conquest of Mexico. While contemplating all the things the chief told me, I closed my eyes and this vision appeared in my minds eye. The first thing I did when getting home in Denver, was to paint this image.
